Ryan Hanlen’s Summary

Ryan Hanlen is an established leader in the management of the design technology Building Information Modelling (BIM). He has managed the BIM process on 1 Bligh Street development – a significant office tower recently completed in Sydney’s CBD. This appointment was initially via Architectus and subsequently as NSW BiM Manager for Grocon.
The management of Bligh Street’s BIM process involved developing protocols, standards and techniques. Ryan continues to document and develop modelling standards, perform multi level analysis of BIM models and provide feedback including reporting and advice. Ryan has also developed and implemented training workshops for the project consultants who have implemented the use of the design technology software (Revit) within the project schedule developed in BIM Management. The methodology developed has been applied across the project enabling the complete coordination of BIM input from all subcontractors and consultant disciplines.
Ryan has led the process of model collaboration in Navisworks for the purpose of clash-detection, logistical analysis, and error checking. He has established a process of combined multi-discipline design workshops, within a process of cyclic BIM data exchange, whereby BIM models are received and analysed, with reports and recommendations issued prior to the commencement of the next cycle
As BIM Integration Manger for Altis Architecture, Ryan has implemented Revit within all company divisions including Architecture, Interior Architecture, Urban Design, and MEP Modelling. His roles include troubleshooting, training, guidance, and content and standard creation.


Ryan is actively involved with UTS (University of Technology, Sydney) in the capacity of BiM Lecturer in Digital Built Environment
He is experienced in Revit Architecture, Revit Structure, Revit MEP, Navisworks and Design Review, and has participated in the beta testing of Navisworks.
